How far inland can tsunamis go?
I live in Riverside CA and I'm curious, could a tsunami reach my city? What about Anaheim? I have a friend that lives there and I'm just curious if there was a large EQ of the coast of So. Cal near LA how far could it travel?

With no highlands or walls to protect as buffer,the impact could be severe. The pressure arising could be very devastating .It could sweep far inland and much will depend on the coastal heights. The lower the inland height the further the sea water will gush in..

How far the tsunamis can go inland depends on the level of the tsunamis and the heights of the barriers. If the tsunamis are very severe and there are few buildings or mountains between the sea and the inland area, they will feature very strong destructive power. The tsunami may have some influence on the city of Anaheim, but the people in this place are quite safe.

About where can I get good mens dowel grips for gymnastics in NYC
where can I get good mens dowel grips for gymnastics in NYC?
particularly ring grips, but anythang thats durable and wont give me that much blisters any more. I go to the traveling rings over by riverside park.

Go to www.ten-o.com . Thats were I get my grips from, and they have men's grips. รข™¥

I am a gymnast also, and i know from experience that grips don't just stop blisters, but they help hold on to the bar or rings when you are working bigger and better skills, you can go to American gymnast or ten-o, i suggest the dowel grips with the buckle, not the Velcro, but the Velcro works fine, they also take a few days-weeks to break in, depending on how often you use them.

believe it ro not, Leo's, a dance company, makes some nice grips. 'm not sure if they make men's, but 'll look. I also like what alpha factor offers.

Where is Riverside close to? How far is it from San Francisco, CA? How long is the travel to SF? Thank you for answering this question.

Riverside is in Southern California, basically directly east of Los Angeles on the 91 freeway. If you drove from San Francisco, count on 6 hours or so. If you fly, the best way to get there is to fly to Orange County or Ontario and drive to Riverside. Traffic is a bear in Riverside so if you're driving, allow extra time.

- If you fly from SFO International, Ontario is the nearest commerical airport to Riverside. You can also use John Wayne airport in Orange County. The flight takes about one hour. The drive to Riverside from Ontario takes 30 minutes (and 45 minutes from John Wayne), assuming good traffic. - To drive from San Francisco to Riverside, count on spending 6-7 hours on the road. Basically, the drive consists of three major freeways. There are a couple of quick stints on state highways near the end, but that's the last 30 minutes of your journey. From the Bay Bridge, take I-580 "MacArthur Freeway" East. (70 miles) Merge onto I-5 "Golden State Freeway" South. (285 miles) Merge onto I-210 "Foothill Freeway" East. (44 miles) Take State Highway 57 South, and then Highway 71 South. (8 miles) Merge onto State Highway 60 East. (24 miles).

According to Amtrak's website, you would have to travel on the southwest chief (#3) to Riverside, board the exact same train whenever you left Riverside (train departs riverside at 5:53 a.m.) ride into LA, board either the thruway motorcoach to bakersfield and ride train #715 the San Jauquins (not sure about spelling) into Oakland, or the best option if you prefer to ride the train the whole time, is after arriving in LAX at 8:15 on train 3, wait 2 hours and board train #14 the Coast Starlight to Oakland arriving in Oakland -- Jack London at around 10:00 that night. You would have to do the bus thing if you chose to book from OKJ to ABQ or you could book two sets of tickets from OKJ to LAX on train 11 Coast Starlight and then train 4 to ABQ Coming back though would be interesting though because you would have to spend the night in LA because train 11 arrives at 9:00 p.m., and train 4 departs at 6:45 p.m. Booking without the BUS trip coming back would cost like this ABQ to RIV (train 3) RIV to LAX (train 3) LAX to OKJ (train 14) OKJ to LAX (train 11) LAX to ABQ (train 4) ---------------------------- $ 590.00 R/T 2 people + tax + hotel fare coming back I hope this helps, I think you might save money riding the bus, but this is a train trip not a bus trip so that is why I picked the multiple city trip. EDIT 11:04 p.m. 11/9/06 I went back and checked on the prices on the bus fares from Riverside to Bakersfield and train to Oakland, and return, total price would be 494.00 + taxes and all that stuff.

What are some cheap charter buses traveling from the SF bay area to Southern CA?
I live in San Jose,CA & I wish to visit my family that lives in Riverside County. What are some cheap mexican-hispanic or private cheap charter buses that could travel to the L.A. Union station by later then 5:30pm? mon-fri?

Don't know about Mexican busses, but how about Amtrak? You can get from Diridon Station in San Jose to Union Station in LA for around 50 bucks pretty much any time of the night. And it would probably smell better than the bus. www.amtrak.com
