About What requests can and should I make for staying at the Walt Disney World resorts

What requests can and should I make for staying at the Walt Disney World resorts?
I will be staying at one of the All Stars ( I won't find out which one until later) I'm told probably the Music or Sports. Then I will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. I will be traveling with a very large group while staying at the All Stars including my husband and 3 and 5 year old. Then just my family at Port Orleans. Just wondering what requests I can make regarding my hotels. And what other suggestions you have for me regarding these specific hotels. Thanks! I have no choice about staying at the All Stars ( I will be with a group) I can not change categories for my stay at the Port Orleans. I have to stay within the moderate. (Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, and Caribbean Beach) Do only some of the rooms at Port Orleans Riverside have elevators?

well i go to disney every year, and i have to say you did a lousy job picking the hotels you stayed at , if you did pick them. the all star does save you money but there are alot of downsides about it. if you are upset with anything--anything at all go and complain. so many people do this there that they move you to a way better moderate priced or deluxe resort for free. also, you should call disney and switch your reservation at the port orleans to the french quarter, not the riverside. the riverside is HUGE and very overscrowded.i have been there 7 times, and i usually stay at deluxe resorts. we starte staying at the port orleans (french quarter) though,to save money and it is my faveorite hotel now along with the contemporary. the main reason is the pool!! it is the best pool i have ever seen at disney. also it is much smaller as i was saying and there is only 1 bus stop. at the riverside there are 4. in the morning when you want to get to the parks, all the buses go to the french quarter, and then they go to the riverside with the same bus. the bus is filled after the 2nd stop at the riverside, and then it takes another 1/2 and hour to send another bus over to the other 2 stops. the pool is also always crowded here, and it was hard to swim when i went. the french quarters pool though is breaktaking..i swear!! they have a sea serpent that looks like it is swimming through the pool area, and it is really big. the pool is under it, and it is huge!! the waterslide is in the head...basically i really think you should stay here more, because you would enjoy it more. it is very easy to switch. just call disney, and in about 2 weeks they will send you a confirmation slip in the mail. check out http://www.disneyworld.com and click on resorts to view them better. have fun!!

Try to get a room close to the bus stop. The all stars are fine. Have fun.

I think you chose very wisely when picking your hotels. All of the All-Stars are good choices, especially for larger groups. Everyone will have their own room, although they will be smaller than the other hotels they are nice. The value resorts only real drawback is the fact that they do not offer a sit down restaurant, so it's the food court only. Other than that the value resorts are good choices for those on a less expensive budget. The P.O. Riverside is a very good moderate resort. Port Orleans is huge and split into two sections, Riverside and French Quarter (formerly Dixie Landings). I have stayed at the French Quarter and really enjoyed it. The rooms are a little bit larger, the pools are very nice, the decor is outstanding, and the food court and the sit down restaurant (Boatwright's dining) are also very good. You can't go wrong with any of the moderate resorts. There are a few more bus stops in Riverside, but don't let that fool you, there is usually not a huge problem with the bus service. As for requests, it depends on what you want. In the All-Stars I don't think there is anything special to ask for unless you want to be closer to the main building for some reason. Disney is usually pretty flexible in this regard, but you have to call them in advance, about a day or so. I have a father-in-law who is diabetic, so when we were at All-Star Movies we asked to be closer to the main building so we could be closer to the food court, because he has to be able to eat at specific times, and he has a hard time walking. This is the only request I would make for P.O. Riverside. The resort is large, so any extra time spent walking could be rough, especially with little ones. See how close you can get to the main building and pool area. Other than that, there really isn't a bad place to be in the resort. If you want some more info on these resorts or some other tips and suggestions I would recommend a couple of spots. First try the disboards. The disboards is a message board website where you can ask questions, get trip reports, dining reviews, resort reviews, tips, tricks and all kinds of info, including suggestions for the rest of Orlando, including Sea World and Universal. The people who are on the disboards are people who go often and love to go to Disney, and know what they are talking about. Also, there is the website allears.net. Tons of info there. Finally, go to the bookstore and pick up the Birnbaum's guide to WDW. There are a ton of guide books out there, but that is the one that has always worked best for us. Don't let anyone tell you that you are wasting your time and money taking your children to Disney at their age. Sure, they can't ride the Rock'N'Roller Coaster or the Tower of Terror, but there is a ton of stuff they can do and will love. I took my kids for the first time when my daughter was 4, then when my daughter was 5 and my son 1, we had a great time. As they have gotten older they have been able to ride more and more, and seeing their faces the first time they saw Main Street USA was worth every penny that I have ever spent at Disney. It is sooo worth it. Have a great trip! Hope this helps.

For your requests, I would suggest looking at a map of the different resorts that you may and will be at, go to wdwinfo.com and they have each resort map with the designated smoking sections on them. Since you have a 3 and 5 year old I would try to get a room closest to the pool, bus stops, main area which has the food court. You don't want to be walking a long way just to get back to your room after a day of parks. As for Riverside, unlike one poster, I absolutely loved the place. It is so quiet and serene and the grounds is very beautiful. We stayed there in June in the Alligator Bayou section bldg #14. We had a 1st floor room which is very convient since we too had 2 little ones. Our room was right next to the main area with Boatwrights and the food court, the bus stop was an easy walk, and the marina and main pool was very close as well. We did pay for the water view room which gave us a wonderful view of the river....however, if you pay for the waterview room, you may get a view of a pool as well. Unlike the one poster, Riverside has more pools than the main one, each sections have quiet pools which are great, especially if the main pool is crowded, however these quiet pools do not have a waterslide like the main one does. Unfortunately I have never stayed in any of the All Star Resorts so I could not tell you which building would be the best for your situation, however, I do know that these resorts, like the Riverside and other moderates, do have preferred rooms that is a little bit more in price than the standard room. These rooms are usually closest to the main pools, food courts, and bus stops. Have fun on your trip.
5 :
For your All Star Room, try and get a room on an upper level to lessen the noise factor. Bottom room floors are easier to get to, of course, but tend to be noisier. As go as high up as you can to reduce that issue. Also, you can request a fridge in your room at the All Star. The Port Orleans Resorts offer River View rooms for a bit more money. If you plan to spend a lot of time at your resort, this might be nice. But if you only plan to sleep there and maybe take a dip in the pool, the extra money for the view isn't worth it. You'll be better off using that money for meals, souvenirs, etc... Be sure to visit http://www.easybreezyplanning.com There you can sign up for a free Disney E-newsletter, read up on fun tips and advice, watch fun Disney movie previews, purchase discounted Disney park merchandise and receive assistance with planning your Disney vacation! Have a wonderful trip!
6 :
If you are looking for elavators request a room in the masion area and not the aligator bayou. The alligator bayou only had stairs. The great thing about Port Orleans Riverside is that no matter where you are you are usually no further then a 5 minute walk to a bus stop. Also if you are wondering where the best room would be to be close to say a food court...just call Disney and ask! They are great about that. Go straight to the source!
7 :
i been there and was OK those Disney moderate hotels loOKs like 2 or 3 stars hotel, the service is OK no more choices, nothing much, but u can find a soda cup for a free refill, the breakfast is not good but the quantity is large u can spare u food. The bathroom is OK need renovation.. the hotel is too old, well is no more complaint but if u r in a budget is ok. Use the Disney bus for transportation, save you time and of course the parking time. Make early reservations for the breakfast in Magic Kingdom all of you will enjoy taking pictures with the Disney characters. All u shopping bags send to your hotel. Next time use the Hilton chain for the same price and the best service around Orlando, but if you go with friends rent a nice home in Kissimee (2,000 to 3,000 sf) to the English people.
8 :
I would suggest asking for a room close to the lobby/food court/bus stops. Making a long trek to the hotel room at 11pm after you have walked all day is tough! I'm guessing that reservations haven't been made yet, as you need to specifically tell them which themed resort you're at . I personally think that the Movie theme is the best of the three, just based on theming, since you have kids too. But if you are going as a large group, i guess thre's other things and interests to take into consideration. I highly suggest requesting a refrigerator for your room. Even if you don't thnik you'll need it, i think its worth the $10 a day. We pack some small cereal boxes, some milk and OJ as well as some little donuts or coffee cakes and fruit so we can have a quick breakfast in our room as we are all getting ready to go in the morning. I also pack some juice boxes for the kids as well as bottles of water. They're always cold and we can grab more if we need more when we go back mid day to rest. Plus it beats paying $2.50 for a water in the parks - bottled - asking for a cup or water and /or ice is free at any counter service eatery. Hope you have a great time!!
9 :
I wouldn't worry so much about the hotels cause you won't spend that much time in it. Make yourself familiar w/your surroundings...... laundry, bus areas, restaurants, vending and where you are in the whole picture. Lighten up... after all your going to Disneyworld!! Have fun!
10 :
At All-Stars put out a little extra cash for a preferred room otherwise you may end up at the very end of the resort and that walk from the bus stop to your room can be awful after a day at the parks. Also, rent a small fridge for 10 bucks and keep drinks and quick snacks in it. Also, music has wonderful family suites that offer more than a regular room. Plan on long lines at the bus stop as all the resorts share the same bus unless you stay at Pop Century.
11 :
With the All Star resorts, I highly suggest a room near the shuttle pick up. (As you and your family come back from a day at the parks, you will want a room that take the fewest steps to get to.) Also, the 2nd floor of the All Star resorts may have less traffic, but there is only one elevator per section so you may have quite a journey if your room is on the far side from the elevator.

Is there anything to do in downtown Riverside, CA on a Sunday night?
I will be traveling with a group of college students this Sunday night and I am looking for activities or events in/around downtown Riverside or near the UCR campus. We are looking for something that is not food or alcohol related.

riverside is a dump the only thing you can do there is meth and get an std
2 :
the first guy was correct.. you can visit one of the many local meth houses.. the 909 sux excuse me the 951.... riverside is still a shit hole even with another area code
3 :
Well first of all, Riverside isn't the 909, so I wouldn't necessarily listen to those guys. I'm not really sure what goes on near Mission Inn on Sundays, but it is always nice to see the Mission Inn. Also, off Central Avenue, there is the Riverside Plaza, with a movie theater and shops. Normally on the weekends they have bands playing as well. It is always nice to go and hang out there in the evenings :]
4 :
The only non-food or non-alcohol related would be a movie and the theaters are not in the downtown area. There is a somewhat older theater complex at the shopping center on University near the campus, just west of the 60/215 freeway.

About How do I transfer from UC Riverside to UC Davis

How do I transfer from UC Riverside to UC Davis?
i live in the bay and i'm really regretting coming to UC riverside because its like 7 hours drive away from home. most student here are not more than an hour away from their house which made me feel stupid to travel this far for Riverside. I'd like to transfer to UC Davis as soon as possible. I am currently a first year student at UC Riverside Biochemistry major. What are the things i need to transfer to UC Davis? or any other good colleges close to the Bay area, california? I'm planning to be a doctor btw.

To be competitive for intercampus transfer, you should complete the general education and major prerequisite requirements at UCR prior to the end of your sophomore year. The UC reciprocity agreement allows you to use the requirements from UCR to fulfill the requirements at UCD. Transfer admission is selective by major and Biochemistry is a very popular major at UCD; therefore the admit rate is a bit lower compared to other majors. When you apply, be sure to specify an alternate major outside of College of Biological Sciences to ensure successful transfer.

Im taking a trip to San Simeon any recommendation's on affordable accommodations?
Im traveling from Riverside and don't know if trying to see Hearst Castle in one day would be feasible. And how is the drive up the coast?

Yes it's feasible - it's not that big. I was quite disappointed when we visited it last year, to be honest. Morro Bay is the closest town to stay in and it's boring as hell. The whole town closes up by about 8:00 at night except for the theater - which plays ONE movie. ((((yawn))))

*_~ So glad that you're considering San Francisco for your vacation. Try to stay in Union Square. When you arrive at the airport, take the SFO air train that goes around the airport, then you’ll get off when you see Bart, take Bart to Powell Station (should be about $6-9 and it takes 20 mins ) that’s Union Square. http://www.bart.gov/ for schedule.. I just love the weather and the diverse culture here!! Traffic can be hectic but still bearable. Public transport is great! You can always take Bart, ferries, bus, taxi or cable car etc. However, if you don’t have much time or want to travel beyond the city – I think a car would help a lot. Yes, you have to pay for parking, but save you time to go more places faster.. Try the “City Sightseeing Open Top Bus Tour” which is about $30. “This unique open-topped bus tour of San Francisco includes four different routes, the Downtown Loop, the Golden Gate Loop, the Park Loop, and the Night Loop.” You're free to hop on and off as often as you want on the downtown loop. Embarcadero is wicked nice, and it's not THAT far, so you could really just walk down it to the Ferry Building. http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/ On Saturdays they do a nice farmer's market and you can get lots of good stuff. Walk down to Pier 39. Check out : Magowan's Infinite Mirror Maze- very cool at Pier 39. GET THE San Franciso POPOUT Maps— I loves these POPOUT map- you get to see where you are- =) No Thinking required, especially on vacation. (Look at the pictures.) I have about 20 of these map of different cities.. It was so useful when I was in Europe! On a budget : http://www.bayareaonthecheap.com/ http://sf.backpage.com/community/classif… http://www.bestofbayarea.com/home.html To Save money: get the “Go San Francisco”, http://www.smartdestinations.com/san-francisco-attractions-and-tours/_d_Sfo-p1.html?pass=Sfo_Prod_Go Cable Car Ferry Building Pier 39 Alcatraz or Angel Island Japan town Lombard Street Chinatown Coit Tower Fishermen's Wharf Union Square for Shopping Golden Gate Park – Walk across the bridge Academy of Science Union Street Ocean Beach Exploratorium Palace of Fine Arts San Francisco Zoo Westfield Shopping Centre DeYoung Museum Yerba Buena Gardens SF Giants Fair at AT&T Park Take the ferry to Tiburon or Sausalito Segates is a great way to travel around the city. Gray Line's Yosemite in a day- Daily depart 7am San Francisco Giants- Baseball Game 49ers- Football games Winchester Mystery House Mansion- overrated. If you have money, Sir Francis Drake Hotel, Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Le Meridien San Francisco. =) I stayed at Sir Francis Drake for New Years eve and love it!
3 :
I would stay while you visit Hearst Castle, located in Morro Bay near the water. It is quiet. If you want more activity, you can find a motel in San Luis Obispo. http://www.thetwindolphin.com/
4 :
Driving up from Riverside and getting back in one day would be a long haul, especially given the time it takes to navigate the slower stretches of Hwy 1 along the coast and weekend traffic jams through LA County. The drive alongside the ocean north of LA is beautiful, especially when you follow Hwy 101 north of Ventura to Santa Barbara and take Hwy 1 from San Luis Obispo to Hearst Castle (don't miss a quick detour along Moonstone Beach Dr in Cambria). To stay overnight near the castle, the motels in San Simeon is boring. Cambria is an artsy community of mostly retirees, with more expensive hotels by the beach. Morro Bay has the cheapest motels around, as well as a pretty harborfront and a few good eateries. But for the liveliest scene, stay in the student college town of San Luis Obispo, from where it's just over an hour's drive or so up to the castle. Whatever you do, make castle tour reservations in advance! Tickets often sell out in summer. If it's your first time visiting the castle, take tour 1. The other specialty tours are for repeat visitors mostly.

Riverside Transit Agency route 149 runs from downtown Riverside to Corona. The one-way fare is $1.50.
2 :
you aslo could take metrolink to Corona,CA as well
3 :
The Riverside Transit Authority (RTA) can take you from Riverside to Corona. To plan your trip go to the RTA website: http://www.riversidetransit.com/bus_info/trip_planner.htm On that website, you can use two options. Transtar or Google Maps. Both options, its best to put in exact locations.....To & From. To, is the address in Riverside where Greyhound drops you at. From, is the address in Corona you are going to. Once you put in the info. You will be able to view which bus route (or routes) are available to take. Good luck in your venture. Best wishes.

Riverside Transit Agency Routes 1 and 149. Route 1 goes from Dwtn Terminal in Riv to the Corona Metrolink via Magnolia Ave. This route has a frequency of every 15 minutes on weekdays. Route 149 goes from Dwtn Terminal to the Village at Orange(O.C. Co) with one stop at Corona via 91 freeway. Metrolink tickets are accepted as a Intaeragency Transfer on RTA routes that connect with it at the station. Corona Cruiser and RTA accept each others bus passes at transfer points. Bus fare is $1.50 each way and day pass is $4. Its too bad Sunline Transit Agency no longer does the Sunlink Commuter Service. It used to go from PS to Riv early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

About Where is a cool place to have a big party thrown at here in Southern California

Where is a cool place to have a big party thrown at here in Southern California?
My wife is turning 30, and we want to have a big party. Maybe 50 people. We are trying to think of having it at a different and cool place. We live in Riverside, CA, but would travel as far as maybe 45 minutes to have it. Our budget I guess would be under a $1k. Whether it's just a cool place to hang out and eat, or just drink and dance.

That's actually not a lot of money for fifty people so the higher end places might be out of the question because you can't really control what people are going to order. You might try Ketchup on Sunset, or Rush Street in Culver City (you can rent the entire upstairs which has a beautiful heated balcony), Shanghai Red's has a great view of the Marina and so does Port O'Call which has private rooms and is located in San Pedro.
2 :
You've got Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens. You can go online and find out which restaurants can hold that many people at one sitting. Then search for clubs in the area. After dinner some will want to leave so the group will be smaller and easier to manage if you go to a club. Plus if you don't want to drive home you can get a room close by. Sound like the perfect evening to me!

There is this huge castle in the IE (Riverside) to throw parties. I'm not sure on specifics. And I think its a bit pricy. But its gotta be cool to have a party in a castle. http://www.benedictcastle.com/events Mission Inn is pricy too. But I think you can throw events at one of their restaurants. And the Mission Inn in Riverside is really beautiful on the inside. http://www.missioninn.com/rooms-virtual-tour-restaurants.htm For dancing. The Sevilla night club in Riverside allows you to throw birthday parties in their club. I am not sure about the price though. I don't know if its expensive. I'm sure it is though. http://www.sevillanightclub.com/riverside/index.php Dave and Buster's at Ontario Mills is a pretty cool place to throw a party. Eat, drink, play arcade games, watch sports on the millions of tvs, play pool.. its really fun there. http://www.daveandbusters.com/specialevents/default.aspx I've seen birthdays at Mi Tortilla in Riverside. Mexican food is pretty good there too. http://www.mitortillamexicangrill.com/locations/ I've also seen parties at Castle Park in Riverside, kind of a kids thing though. http://www.castlepark.com/groups.html Hope that helped. Good luck with everything.

Things to do near Riverside, CA, this month?
My family is coming to visit us in Riverside, CA. We are just traveling here ourselves, so I don't know the area. Where can we take them? We are not into night clubs, but enjoy the beach, horseback riding, casinos, eating out, museums, sightseeing, whale watching, zoos, etc. Nothing too expensive, but I would like a list of about 25 things to choose from. Can you help?

Disneyland: The Happiest Place on Earth. Half a billion visitors can’t be wrong. (Sometimes it seems all at once) Universal Studios: A theme park that grew out of a studio tour. Check out eBay. You can find some discounted tickets there. And Universal City Walk is a fun place to hang out in the evening after your day inside the park. Hollywood: Hollywood Boulevard is ready for its close-up, thanks to years of urban renewal and renovation. Enjoy the Walk of Fame, Entertainment Museum, Mann's Theatre and more. You can see a lot for free. I have also added the Hollywood & Highland complex to my top ten list… it has lots of shops and restaurants, and the Kodak Theater (home of the Academy Awards). I like the El Capitan theater, because it has been restored to its former glory, unlike the Chinese, which was essentially gutted and turned into a multiplex. Rodeo Drive, 90210: Packed with exclusive shops, full of gawkers. They all came to enjoy the excess. Free, unless you intend to buy something. Venice Beach: Los Angeles kitsch and over-the-top culture at its best. Here you'll find Muscle Beach, street performers and tacky shops galore. Fun, VERY interesting, but I avoid it after dark, when it gets a little TOO interesting for my taste. And it's a short bike ride from: Santa Monica Beach and Pier: Great beach scene and a classic seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel that has been in a lot of TV and movies. (The Sting and "Three's Company" come immediately to mind). After visiting the pier, you can ride a bike south a couple miles to Venice Beach. Santa Monica Third Street Promenade - Downtown Santa Monica's shopping promenade is often the scene of movie star-sightings. Just a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier. Sunset Boulevard: Perhaps one of the world's most famous streets, it began as a route between the stars' posh neighborhoods and the Hollywood studios. It runs from downtown to the ocean, passing through the "Sunset Strip" on its way. It makes for a fun drive. Along the way, you see a lot of different neighborhoods. Hollywood, West Hollywood, Bel Air, and Pacific Palisades. When you get to the ocean, stop at Gladstone's for Fish. Queen Mary: Once the largest ship afloat, she's been docked in Long Beach for longer than she sailed, and her elegance never fails to impress. Free to visit. You can actually stay on board, for a price. Farmers Market and The Grove - A new shopping complex right next to a Los Angeles landmark, The Grove and Farmers Market coexist. Enjoy a movie or shopping, then take the trolley to the Farmers Market for lunch or dinner. Farmer's Market is right next to CBS, so walk across the lot to see if they are taping "The Price is Right". You might even get in. Griffith Park - Home of the Los Angeles Zoo, Griffith Park Observatory, Travel Town, the Greek Theatre, and Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage. Getty Museum - The Getty's architecture is so beautiful that it keeps me fascinated. No matter whether you like their art or architecture better (or maybe you'll just enjoy the view), the Getty is sure to please. Free. Attend a TV taping - You can get free tickets at audiencesunlimited.com, or see the booth at Universal City walk. It's very interesting to see a show being taped. The most popular, by far, is the tonight show. Check the NBC web site for all the details there. Places to eat: In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone. Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. Might see a celebrity. Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. Original location at Beverly & Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown. Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly & Melrose. Near CBS, might spot a celebrity. Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station, Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, it’s hot. Places to Stay: In Hollywood, I recommend the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel and the Farmer's Daughter Hotel. In Anaheim, I recommend the HoJo Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. If you want to splurge and make this a most memorable trip, stay at Disney’s Grand Californian. You get the full Disney experience. If you don't need to stay by the park, then stay at the Doubletree on Harbor, or even the one in Orange on Chapman. In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced. Places to Shop: South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa Fashion Island, Newport Beach Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica Citadel Outlets, Commerce Beverly Center, Los Angeles The Block at Orange, Orange Ontario Mills, Ontario

Rubidoux http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.asp?TrailID=XTR002-091 Take them to the San Bernadino County Museum http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/museum/ Tour the Mission Inn, and eat at one of their many restarants. http://www.missioninn.com/ Bike ride along the river. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Ana_River_bicycle_path

Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach at Walt Disney World?
I am trying to decide between Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach at Walt Disney World. I am definitely staying onsite at one of these three. Has anyone stayed and can give me comparisons? I know that they are all moderate hotels. I just want to hear from people who have actually stayed at these hotels. I am traveling with a 3 and 5 year old. I think I am going to bring a double stroller so will have to be lugging that around too. Which ones have the least travel time involved going to the parks? Any other hints you can give me for my vacation? I am staying at the All Star Resort also....but our stay at these hotels will be part of our cruise package. Also has anyone heard of the mansions there? Can you tell me about them, please.

Well, Im sorry to respond without the answer you are looking for, but you are wasting money on a room that you will spend very little time at. Me, wife, and my 8 and 5 year old boys, stay at the "DISNEY AllStar Resorts" . Our fav is the "All Star Movies" in the Toy Story wing of the hotel. Look on the web to see the huge "monuments" of Buzz lightyear, Woody, and the rest of he gang from Toy Story. I mean, come on! What kid doesn't like Toy Story? Besides that, you will spend little time in your hotel. They all have buses to take you to all the parks and they all have pools ect. ect. So if you arent on your 2nd Honeymoon, dont go upscale with a 3 and 5 year old! Its a waste. The kids want WOODY AND BUZZ MOM! LOL I hope you have a blast! We are ready for our next trip already. PS DO THE DISNEY MEAL PLAN...ITS SO GREAT! BUT MAKE RESERVATOINS TO CHARACTER DINNERS WELL IN ADVANCE!

My family went last year and we stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside. We loved it. There are 5 of us , 16 yr old twins and 7 year old, me and my husband. It worked out great. We were right in front one of the pools and around the corner from the shuttle. Very beautiful grounds. We walked to the Port Orlean French Quarter and we liked the looks of Riverside better. Looked Cleaner. I would recommend buying the dining plan. It saved us so much! Our first meal was over $256 and we didn't have to pay a thing. Tip is included in the dining plan. If you book through Disney the dining plan is sometimes Free. Depends on when you are going. You get 2 snacks a day, 1 Counter Service Meal and 1 Sit Down Meal. Plenty to eat, the last day we had to buy up all of our snacks because we hadn't used them all. Well worth the money. Your children are younger so it shouldn't cost as much. I believe is is $39 per adult per day and $11 per child. I am not sure if you will have to pay for the 3 year old. But you really can't eat in the parks for that per day. I hope this helped! Have a great time!

Who said All Stars (Furthest away from resorts; can be noisy, Crowded)? LOL thats the worst; Most of the time they book groups there and overcrowd the place. For Children I would Recommend the Caribbean Beach; Port Orleans Riverside?French Quarter Share Bus so that could be a problem but its very Nice. Im a travel agent and I can get you a great deal on Disney; I would suggest the Dining Plan Its free right now if you travel between late august into september must be booked soon its ending soon. For a value resort; If you want that way go with Pop Century; You can get lucky with All Stars but most of the time its crap.

I've stayed at all 3 of these hotels. My personal favorite is Port Orleans Riverside. I like the atmosphere and its such a beautiful hotel. I think its one of the more quiet resorts which is comforting after a day at the parks. I also feel that the food court there is one of the best ones at all the resorts. I like the French Quarter also but I dont find it to be as nice as the Riverside. And Carribean beach is ok but I felt it was kinda outdated. There will always been some travel time to the parks. And depending on which resort you stay, it might take longer to get to a park farther away. I know the All star Resorts are the farthest from the Magic Kingdom. Good luck on your trip. Have fun.

I have not personally stayed at any of these (I usually rent a house off-property). But here is an excellent site with reviews that I would use to decide: http://allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm Have a blast!

Caribbean Beach is awesome! We stayed there a couple years back with our little ones. It does have a nice family atmosphere. But then again so do most of the Disney hotels. We lugged a double stroller around as well - maybe look into the rentals they have at the parks. It will save you the backache an having to worry about carrying it around park to park.

I've stayed at port orleans and riverside...they were basically the same...boated by carribean beach, it looked nice too...6 of one half a dozen of the other.

The atmosphere of the Port Orleans resorts is one of the reasons they are such popular choices. As for distance to the parks, however, Caribbean Beach is virtually right next door to Disney-MGM Studios and is also a short distance away from Epcot. The Port Orleans resorts are just a short distance away from Epcot. I would suggest bringing along the double stroller; it will save you about $18 a day to bring your own instead of buying a rental. Here is a map for the locations of your select resorts in relation to the parks. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d119/rwingflyr/wdwmap.jpg

I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside years ago. I loved it so much I choose it again this November. The grounds are truely beautiful. It has a very calming and peaceful atmosphere where you can relax, yet centrally located to everything. Good luck and have fun!

Stayed at Port Orleans Riverside a few years ago with a 14-8-and 3 yr old. We loved it. Stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. They have a trundle bed in the room as an extra bed. The 3 yr loved having his own bed. :) POR is a big property but it's very serene. Plenty of pools -quiet pools and the main themed pool. We never had problems with the bus transportation. We were at the 2nd bus stop on the properties route. Never waited any more than 10 mins max for bus and i think that was only because we were going to Typhoon Lagoon that day. This was not my first choice of disney resorts - only ended up staying there because of the trundle bed. But i was really pleased and would stay at that location again. The longest ride was out to Animal Kingdom but every other park was pretty fast after we got through the stops. Same with coming back to the hotel. Plus i like the "river" that runs through the resort. You can take the boat straight to downtown disney! It's about a 10-15 min ride but it's so nice and relaxing. The Mansions that you are referring to is the Mansion side of POR. The river splits up the sides. Alligator Bayou is obviously the swamp themed area and the mansions are the more of the gone with the wind themed buildings. You wouldn't go wrong with staying at POR it's a great location.

Big big thumbs up for Port Orleans French Quarter, by far the best of the three you mentioned. I would say the best of all the choices in its class.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach last summer with our 5 year old. He LOVED it! There are lots of pools (we opted for a smaller, less crowded one instead of the main one). The place to eat is great. You can get a quick breakfast there before grabbing a bus to your day's destination. It's close to drive to other places for dinner. We'd had enough of the parks by dinner and went elsewhere. The rooms are great! Enjoy!

We just stayed at Port Orleans Riverside a couple of weeks ago. My daughter and I took a Sea Raycer boat over past the French Quarter and it looked nice, but we didn't get to go inside. I have not been to Caribbean Beach, but we considered it and have read some mixed reviews. As far as Riverside goes, it was nice and the food court is very good with lots of selections. There are plenty of pools and the atmosphere is very relaxed. My only complaint was being too far away from the bus stop. Try to make sure that you are close to the Main Building/Food Court or one of the other bus routes, especially with a double stroller. The grounds are huge with a lot of winding paths that are sometimes confusing to navigate. Many times we just drove up to the bus stop rather than have to walk. It also made getting back to the room a lot easier too when we were all tired. If you can swing it, I would definitely suggest one of the deluxe resorts on the monorail route. We stayed at the Polynesian back in 2000 and needed a double stroller back then too. It was so much more convenient just rolling it onto the monorail than folding it up to get on the buses, especially if the kids are sleeping. You will probably be spending most of your time at MK anyway, so slipping back to the hotel for a rest and a swim is much quicker at the deluxes. What ever you choose I hope you have a wonderful time!

You can get buses to the border but I am pretty sure that you are going to have to change busses at the border. Check with Greyhound. They will have a good answer for you.
2 :
Greyhound stops at the border. You need to get off and walk across Customs & Immigration and walk or take a cab to the Bus Depot where you can catch a first class bus to points South in Mexico. You are likely going thoriugh Nogales.

About How can I get from Riverside to San Deigo using public transportation

How can I get from Riverside to San Deigo using public transportation?
I'm traveling to Comic Con on Thursday, and I need to be in San Diego by 8:30 AM. I'm from New York so I'm not familiar with any of the public transportation lines.

You can take the Metrolink train from Riverside to Union Station (L.A.) and then take Amtrack from Union Station to San Diego. Buses would require a lot of planning. Look up OCTD.com which is Orange County bus company (also metrolink site is metrolinktrains.com (if I remember correctly). They can help you try to get from bus-bus-bus-bus-bus until you make it there. The hardest part is making it through Pendleton as I cant remember seeing any buses pass on the freeway through there (city buses that is). I'd do the train route, will save you hours as well.

If you need to be in San Diego 8:30AM then the only way to do it is to drive to San Diego or go the night before. From Riverside, take the MetroLink train to Oceanside. http://www.socalthemeparks.com/la-county-area-transit.html Change trains in Oceanside to the Coaster Train. Take will take you to downtown San Diego. http://www.socalthemeparks.com/san-diego-area-transit.html

About Is there any place to get free counseling/therapy in Southern California

Is there any place to get free counseling/therapy in Southern California?
I am 29yo and I have felt I need therapy for over a decade. My parents divorced when I was 12 and that, along with many other experiences, has left me feeling like I could benefit from getting counseling. Unfortunately as a victim of the economy I can not afford to pay a therapist. I live in Riverside and travel to Orange County regularly. Any help would be welcome.

God can be your counseling. His word is a therapy in our life. Pray, pray is when you talk to God. He is the only one that can fulfill your heart with his presence. King David said in his Psalm 37:25: I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed. Read the Psalm of King David. He went through a lot but God always helped him. He was a poor child, not wanted but God had a purpose with him, God made him a King. God has purpose with you, so talk to him in your own word and you will see miracle. Tell him about your worries and the things that you want him to do for you. Try and believe in whatever you put in his hand and you will see miracle. God wants communion with you. He created you. When your parents went to bed they did not say lets make a baby today, no, was God creating you. God give the children.Their parents have to take care of them. Otherwise Call to him and he will answer you and will show you great things. (Jeremiah 33:3), God loves you and he watches over you. Do not matter how lonesome you feel, he is close to you waiting for you to talk to him. Believe me, this is true. I can not lie because God is my Sheppard, my savior and my helper. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4). The Lord will give you joy and peace in your heart. Read the Bible, it will help you. The Lord God says: Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5). I do con-selling, just send me your question and I will teach you the way to receive healing trough the word of God. God bless you.
